I have recently come back from staying a week at this hotel. Absolutely amazing! The staff were friendly. The service was great. We had booked large room to deliver training and they always went above and beyond during my stay. The WiFi was great during the day, but then could be intermittent in the evening but was nothing to worry about as the pool side was busy and there was a great atmosphere. The staff speak little English, but always tried to help where ever they could and would always greet me when in passing.

The food, well what can I say? It was amazing! The breakfast, lunch and evening meals were absolutely amazing and don't understand why some people have said it needs improving.

Rooms are always made and the hotel was clean. The pool was crystal clear and would always be cleaned every morning when I would go out on my balcony for a smoke. My room size was great and the bathroom was emaculate.

Although the poolside does get bust at night, the noise was tolerable and did not go on for longer than necessary.

The conference room that we had book did get a little warm even though the AC was on max, but that added to the experience. We always have fresh water bottles in the conference room in the morning and replenished in the afternoon. They reception staff were always friendly & help me on my check out when I could not locate my wallet (my fault as forgot where I had placed it).

After such a great week, I was reluctant to come back to England. This overall was a great first visit to Tunisia and my overall experience of the country was enhanced by the lovely hotel staff and amazing food.

If I had to give a CON it would be that the larger fish needed to be in a bigger tank.

Rooms were very nice and the entire hotel is well-cleaned.

My only complaints are that the toilet paper was not restocked without me having to ask for it, and that the WiFi quality is poor: you often cannot even connect to it if there are too many people around.

The staff were always so helpful and friendly though. I had trouble with my taxi when trying to check out and Ibrahim Ben Said (the IT manager) drove me to the airport.

I was going to be getting into Tunis well past midnight, so I decided to book a hotel room not too far from the airport, where I would have to return in the morning to pick up a rental car and drive west. Tunis Grand Hotel was some 10 minutes from the airport, the price was not outlandish, the T.A. reviews seemed acceptable, so I booked here, and requested its airport pick-up service.

Coming out of customs around 1 a.m., I quickly spotted Ayman, the driver sent to meet me -- a first good sign. Arriving at the hotel, it took a moment to find the reception clerk, but he processed my check-in efficiently and sent me up to my room. I had booked a standard room, but I may have been given an upgrade, because it appeared to be more of a suite, with a sitting room separate from a large bedroom with a very large and comfortable bed.

I had not even settled in when a waiter appeared at my door to bring in a bottle of mineral water. I did not know that I would be charged 13 dinars for this unsolicited bottle of water when I checked out. Beware of Grand Hotel waiters bearing gifts!

The wi-fi worked well, and so did the shower. With that, and a comfortable bed, what more could one want? I was sufficiently satisfied by my experience that, when I decided to return to Tunis less than a week later, I again booked a room at the Grand Hotel.

When I drove onto the property I was warmly greeted by Ayman, who was hanging out with the security guard in the gated parking area. (When I got to the reception desk Ayman followed me with a forehead thermometer to take my temperature, and was exhilirated that I was at 37ºC--some 98.6ºF; perhaps he had spent the week in deepening anxiety that this foreigner he had driven in from the airport might have infected him with the Coronavirus!) However, the clerk at the front desk then informed me that the hotel had closed down that morning and would not take me. Since there were loud voices of men shooting the breeze around a table at the mezzanine level, it didn't sound as if the hotel were closed, but who knows -- perhaps they had had a guest who had fallen ill with Covid-19, perhaps they didn't want to deal with a foreigner at that time. In any event, the desk clerk did call to find another hotel that would take me, and I specifically asked for La Maison Blanche, which worked out very well.

Hello, I’ve been so many times in this hotel.The rooms are big, all the people are friendly. The breakfast should be improved a little. Overall it’s a quite good hotel , the place is good to go into the city, I like it.

My stay in this hotel in Tunis was perfect thanks to the quick and attentive service provided by the reception staff. Nawfel saw to my every need after my long, weary travel. Although my stay was brief, I was thankful for this short stay!

Great hotel, excellent service, polite and friendly staff, food was brilliant. Very close to the shops and market and the other local restaurants. I enjoyed the stay, would recommend to others. Over all it’s a thumbs up

Large room and bathroom; polite staff at breakfast and other services, despite requesting a quite room at my arrival, the receptionist did not listen or did not care, I had a room with two double single beds, as the windows are not insulated you hear all the noise of cars drives and the parking below the room ( Bank office)
The Hygiene is an issue, dirty carpet at the entrance; bathroom not really clean; however the the hotel has to improve the standard because it is not a 5 stars hotel.

I had a room that was near the Club so it was really noisy which made it hard to rest.
The breakfast was ok, good food quality but very few choices.
The restaurant however was really good, great menu & very tasty food, plus a decent wine collection.

Our second visit to the Tunis Grand. It’s even better than last time. They upgraded our room! We had a great view of the sunrise and were on the end corner so had different views of the city. Staff friendly. Security at front door. Secure Parking if you are driving. Everything very clean. Breakfast is a great variety. WiFi is a bit weak and if you don’t like smoke, stay away from the bar. Downside is it surrounds above the ground floor entrance so evenings are a bit smelly. Otherwise a wonderful treat while staying in Tunis!!

This is my 2nd trip to Tunis Grand Hotel this year. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Lovely rooms, clean and spacious. I had WiFi working in all areas of hotel. Great quality food and nice ambiance. Terrace area is really gorgeous and pool is lovely in the hot weather. The Evenings in the terrace are lovely and all the area in lit up and has a lovely atmosphere. I will definitely be going back again x

i stayed in the hotel last December and i already did a review love it, now i visited again but didnt stay in the hotel , my review is about the 5emme club .
ill rank it 6 stars great place very clean even the visitors are high class, tasty food very friendly employees including the security personnel.

The infrastructure is really very beautiful which justifies probably the 5 tsars. The restaurant is good as well.

But the service is terrible. I had to wait more than one hour to have my room at 6 AM. The man at the reception was terrible. He didn't find the reservation of the person who was before me and as I had a reservation for a one week seminar with an official order he said he didn't retrieve my reservation either and asked to have a prepayment of the room. He finally invoiced a day use of the room because it was before noon. The internet didn't work during the whole week in the meeting room but despite my complaint nobody tried to solve the issue. The IT guy came and argued that it was because I used a Mac and it would work with a PC!!! The last day the lady at the reception asked who would pay because they could not deliver the invoice until I checked out from my room. She seemed more preoccupied, as the rest of the employees, by the financial aspects than by the satisfaction of the customers.

Definitely a place I would suggest to my ennemies...

I stayed st this nice hotel close to the airport. Fare to and from the airport is under 20 Tunisian dinars. The Restuarent and staff and security is very good. It is located in a quite are abs the rooms are very good. I highly recommend it to you if you visiting Tunis. I think the hotel will do better if they have free shuttle to SMC from the airport and if they do something about smoking in the first floor cafe.

stayed for 10 days , most i like is the staff are very nice and helpful specially the receptionist Ms. Mariam she was great helping us find the room we wanted .
2nd thing is the clubs 5eme and 1st are great beautiful atmosphere , rooms are very clean .
the hotel is very near to al Nasser where a lot of variety of restaurants.
for business is great .
the negative thing is the road construction around it .

The hotel is situated in a nice area, quite close to the airport and to the city centre but neighbourhood is quiet, you can hear some noise coming from "La Cinquième" bar though if your room looks towards it.
Rooms are very big and well equipped but somehow "empty", I think they should put a bit more furniture giving the size of the room.
Nice bar in the lobby for a relaxing drink after a working day or, more fashionable, La Cinquième on the fifth floor in a building next to the Hotel (but still part of it).
I have not tried neither breakfast nor the restaurant.

Went to The Tunis Grand for business, the rooms are large although for a five star hotel a bit tired. the breakfast was not to appetising neither where the sandwiches during the day choice pizza or chicken club sandwich? The main restaurant however had an ala carte menu and the food was very good.

Very nice lounge bar at the 5th floor in this hotel with orchestra and hi-tech approach. What to say about pastries, simply "delicious"? My favorite dish was probably the morning omelette with this unique flavor that makes you want to ask for the recipe to the chef...

All in all, a good 3star hotel.... Unfortunately it is supposed to be 5 star hotel...

Rooms were big and decent. Very clean! They had the typical decoration of Tunisian (business) hotels: a bit outdated, carpets, marble, lots of pillows... but nothing to complain about.

Tunisian hotel staff (+restaurant, shops,...) is generally unfriendly and they dont care about you. In this hotel, we only had contact with the receptionists and the security staff and they fit the profile. Rather unpleasant to deal with them.

The breakfast was a very good buffet, nothing missing from here.
Wifi was good in the room. The swimming pool looked very nice and welcoming, we didnt have time for it unfortunately.

There was a wedding going on in the hotel, and we were disturbed by the noise (2nd floor). In wintertime, I believe you better ask a room on a lower floor in the hotel (less weddings and the rooftop bar is open), in summertime, go for a higher room.

We recommend this hotel in the same neighbourhood + pricelevel: The Penthouse.

Stayed there late March. Rooms are clean and big, service good, breakfast nice. Restaurant food was like it - a restaurant food in this level of establishment. Bar was lively and a bit smokey - but hey you can smoke pretty much anywhere in Tunis.

having said that - for a 5* establishment one might want something providing spirit of the hotel and there was none. Something making the place special. But if you do not need that and do not mind staying outside of the lively places in Tunis then it might be the one for you.

The photos and the name give the impression that you will be welcomed into a comfortable setting. I did read other travellers' remarks before going and they were accurate - but the hotel had been booked for me by my host. The front desk duty manager was curt and unapologetic about the change in policy about full prepayment at check-in - despite the fact that my host was there and has an account and regularly uses the hotel for seminars.

The plus side was the breakfast - quite extensive, good service and nice if you get a table overlooking the pool and get to have breakfast in the warm Tunisian sun.
